Since 1996, Dirk Swartenbroekx has been making funky records under the name Buscemi, a reference to one of his favourite actors. His style is deep and hard to categorise. You can hear elements of bossa, jazz, house, brazilian grooves, afrobeat, balkan, drum ‘n bass and dub....

Dance music with a warm feeling is perhaps the best description of Buscemi's sound.The DJ has so far released 7 full-length solo albums, 3 albums with Italian pianist and composer Michel Bisceglia and an album with Italian singer Rocco Granata. There were also 2 jazz mix compilations he made for the likes of Blue Note, Ministry Of Sound and Squadra Bossa. Moreover, he worked on two double albums of remixes for various artists from all over the world. Want to discover his greatest hits? In 2013, he released a 3CD compilation with his best tracks.
